Cycling in the Time of COVID: Three Beefs Cycling's Virtual Ride Initiative

Hello, fellow cyclists and friends of Three Beefs Cycling. Beefward here, reaching out during what is an unprecedented and challenging time for all of us. As the world grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic, the way we live, work, and cycle has fundamentally changed. In response to this new reality, and to keep our cycling community connected and active, we're excited to announce the launch of our Virtual Ride Initiative.

The Virtual Ride Initiative

Understanding the importance of social distancing, we've shifted gears to bring our cycling experiences into the virtual realm. Our Virtual Ride Initiative allows members to ride together, apart. Using cycling apps and platforms, we've set up a series of virtual rides where members can join from the safety of their homes.

How It Works

Participants can set up their bikes on trainers and connect to platforms like Zwift, where they can ride in a virtual world. We've scheduled regular rides, replicating some of our favorite routes from both East Anglia and Denver, along with new, exciting virtual courses. Through these platforms, members can interact, compete, and stay fit, all while maintaining social distancing.

Staying Connected and Healthy

The mental and physical health benefits of cycling are more important than ever during these trying times. Our virtual rides provide not only a way to stay physically active but also a means to maintain social interactions and mental well-being. They offer a sense of normalcy and community in a world that feels anything but normal.

Special Events and Challenges

We're also introducing virtual challenges and events, including endurance rides, sprints, and hill climbs. These events are designed to keep our competitive spirits high and to offer goals to strive for. We're even planning a virtual race series, bringing a bit of our competitive edge to the digital space.

Safety and Support

While we encourage everyone to stay active, we also emphasize the importance of staying safe. Follow local health guidelines, set up your indoor cycling space safely, and ensure your bike is well-maintained for these stationary rides. Our team is available for virtual support, offering tips on bike setup, using virtual platforms, and staying healthy during this time.

Looking Forward

We remain hopeful that we will soon be able to ride together in person once again. Until then, we believe our Virtual Ride Initiative offers a great way to keep our community thriving. We're all in this together, and cycling, even virtually, can play a vital part in getting us through these times.

Join Us

If you’re looking to stay active and connected, join our Virtual Ride Initiative. It’s open to all, regardless of where you are or your level of experience. Let's keep the spirit of Three Beefs Cycling alive, one virtual pedal stroke at a time.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and keep cycling,

Beefward
