Hello, fellow cycling enthusiasts! Beefward here, still buzzing from the adrenaline and excitement of our first-ever Transatlantic Meetup. This August, members from East Anglia and Denver came together for a unique gathering that was filled with both thrilling and unexpected moments.

The Grand Meetup Plan

In an attempt to do something out of the ordinary, we decided that our meetup would be a two-wheel journey starting from two different points, eventually converging in the middle. Our UK team started from East Anglia, while the US team kicked off from Denver, with both groups meeting in a picturesque town that was, quite literally, mid-way. The journey was a mix of cycling, train rides, and even a short ferry stint!

A Rocky Start... Literally!

The meetup was not without its hiccups. For starters, I had a bit of a mishap with my sunscreen. In a bid to protect myself from the glaring sun, I ended up spraying sunscreen right into my eyes, leaving me temporarily unable to see after the first few miles. Thankfully, with the help of my fellow cyclists (and a lot of water), I was back on my bike, albeit a bit more cautious with my sunscreen application!

The Ant-venture

Upon reaching our destination, we checked into a charming hotel that was a story in itself. It turns out, one of the rooms had a tiny, uninvited population of ants. Yes, you read that right – ants! While it certainly wasn't as bad as a full-blown infestation, it was definitely less ideal than having no ants at all. This minor ordeal became a running joke among the group and added to the list of memorable (and amusing) experiences of our trip.

Cycling, Laughing, and Bonding

The true essence of the meetup was the cycling adventure, where we explored beautiful routes, challenging ourselves and enjoying the diverse landscapes. Off the bikes, there was plenty of laughter, storytelling, and bonding. Our evenings were filled with group dinners, where we shared cycling tips, experiences, and plans for future club activities.

The Power of Community

This meetup reinforced the strength of our cycling community. Despite coming from different backgrounds and locations, our shared passion for cycling brought us together in the most remarkable way. It was a testament to the friendships and connections that Three Beefs Cycling has fostered over the past year.
